Getting Qualified

Getting your talent qualified
Whilst there are some roles within financial services which require people to have an FSA Appropriate Qualification, there are a number of careers where a particular qualification is not specified.  Consult our qualifications list to see which qualifications have met the criteria we specify.  Alternatively, review our job profiles that detail the most recognised qualifications for over 70 professions within the sector, and can help you navigate the education landscape. In addition, apprenticeships are a great way to equip your workforce with professional qualifications and help qualify your pipeline of emerging talent.

Qualifications List
Our qualifications list provides information on qualifications related to roles which do not require an FSA Appropriate Qualification. There are a number of qualifications that are recognised by the FSA as ‘appropriate’ and are required for certain regulated activities. This listing does not include those which form part the FSA’s Appropriate Qualifications list for regulated activities.  For details of them, please visit the FSA or call their contact centre on 0845 606 9966.

In order to be included on the FSP list, qualifications and/or examinations must:

  1. Be awarded by organisations registered with their nations educational or industry regulator
  2. Have a relationship with the relevant Professional Standards, where they exist
  3. Have employer support from the sector; for example, a list of organisations and details of uptake

Our Qualifications List is updated on an annual basis and is categorised by sub-sector and function.  Please use the left hand navigation panel to access the Qualifications List.
