Board Effectiveness Toolkit: Statements of Good Practice
Helping you become an effective Board
Boards are successful when they are led strategically, and when members understand their roles and responsibilities. Key determining criteria in Board success have been identified by the sector as: competence; critical analysis undertaken to inform decisions; communication; and culture.
In line with this and as part of the Leadership 21C programme, the industry-standard Statements of Good Practice are intended to be used to support Boards in their corporate agenda with key activities that are on the horizon for your next Board cycle. With requirements to report on key activities such as your evaluation practice and succession planning, the Statements can be used to help you to structure and inform your key Board responsibilities and ultimately to prepare for success.
