Are you a Graduate?

We're looking for graduates to join our ambitious scheme to help build the future for financial services firms. Are you a graduate looking for work? Are you interested in developing a long term career in financial services? If so please Contact Nashima Huq on nashima.huq@financialskillspartnership.org.uk or 020 7367 9586.

The Concept

The Graduate Foundation College is an ambitious industry-led initiative to help young graduates qualify as advisers and fill much needed positions in small and medium sized advisory firms across the country.

The College offers a structured programme of academic training and industry experience to bright, young graduates in order to increase their employability as future advisers.

Participating firms who are interested in recruiting new talent but who cannot necessarily fund their initial training and induction into the profession will have access to these candidates as potential new employees.

The candidates will achieve an entry level standard into the world of financial advice and during the programme candidates will be introduced to a participating firm, which in turn provides invaluble insight and experience. At the same time, the firm can assess the employability of their candidate as well as build a potentially highly beneficial new relationship for the longer term.

The College delivers a 10 week pre-employment training programme, with access to e-learning, face to face workshops, exam preparation training and invaluable industry experience for successful graduates.

Participating firms will be able to take on candidates with a view to offering an internship placement and increase the probability of employing fresh talent into their business, with a lot of the hard work already done for them.

Key Benefits

The Graduate Foundation College will help candidates take their first step to becoming an adviser.

Candidates who complete the programme will attain:

  • the Financial Services, Regulation and Ethics Module
  • supporting skills training and industry knowledge

Participating firms will be able to:

  • save time and energy on recruiting and training new people
  • avoid some of the costs associated funding with new recruitment
  • fully assess the candidate placed with them
  • access expertise and resources

Requirements

Participating firms will be required to offer a minimum three month paid internship to a selected candidate, with continued training (if possible).
